The following is a passage from a story in the Indianapolis Star. It is a nice summary of what is proposed and what the problem is.
"Liberty Green Renewables Indiana of Georgetown wants to build wood-burning biomass power plants in the Southern Indiana towns of Milltown and Scottsburg, where forest industries create an abundance of wood byproducts.Liberty also is considering a third plant but has not revealed the location; the company wants to build six other biomass plants in five other states. IDEM estimated Liberty Green's Scottsburg facility would emit 245 tons of nitrogen oxide and 226 tons of carbon monoxide annually, and more than 11 tons of chemicals classified as hazardous air pollutants. Still, concerns about environmental impacts led several local residents to form a group to question the proposal, the Courier-Journal of Louisville, Ky., reported this month."
This is a typical Biomass Incinerator. The one proposed for Scottsburg will sit on 40 acres of two-story high piles of woodchips, under a mile from Vienna Finley Elementary.

If you would like to get involved, here are some things you can do:
1. Show up to local meetings such as the Zoning Commission, County Council, City Council, etc, and let them know that you do NOT want this power plant!
2. Donate to the Concerned Citizens of Scott County to help with their legal battles fighting this biomass plant.
3. Print and mail this letter that complains to the Federal Trade Commission about Liberty Green's deceptive practices! Click Here
4. Call some of the people and committees that hold the power in this county and tell them how you feel! Click Here for a list of the phone numbers.
Anything Else?
Sure, glad you asked. If you would like a yard sign, email or call me and I'll get you one. Write letters to your local newspaper. Tell your neighbors. Attend one of the meetings listed below. You don't have to say anything, just hold a NO BIOMASS piece of paper to silently let them know how you feel. Click here for sign. Or lastly, feel free to donate to help with our legal costs. (They are piling up.)
